Programs that aren’t adjusted to someone’s individual dementia needs and functional ability are not effective. They may prefer to stroll outdoors, prune plants, sweep the porch, sand wood or, for example, work on a word game. Individual Pursuits has been created with these individuals in mind. Many, including individuals diagnosed with atypical dementias, often benefit from individual pursuits versus large group programming.
